A little about us

FTS specialises in the tendering of food and associated catering goods used within the UK’s education sector. We offer a combined competitive tendering and on-going contract monitoring service which ensures all of our customers are protected from any price increases introduced by suppliers after the initial tender has been completed. We will also as part of our monitoring service, ensure that any products supplied under our customer’s contract meets the quality of product specifications as detailed within the tender document, that delivery windows are adhered to and that the service is not compromised in any way. FTS will only recommend suppliers who are accredited and who have passed the FTS Supplier Quality Audit process so ensuring that food supplied to our Customer’s schools are safe and traceable back to source.

Why use FTS?

At FTS we know how demanding the role of a Catering Manager can be and appreciate that few managers have the time, expertise or access to the benchmark data to undertake such a complex, detailed and time consuming exercise. The absolute aim of an FTS food tender exercise is to enable the school to reduce their food expenditure and to improve on best value without affecting the quality of either the products or service delivery. We believe this to be especially important with the continuing challenging economic times ahead. FTS would engage at all times with the school when initiating the tender process to ensure that the written tender specification is bespoke and that it reflects the unique requirements of each school. FTS would invite incumbent and new suppliers to tender for the supply of food products ensuring that a maximum of 3-4 suppliers per category were invited. These can be local, regional and national suppliers. FTS cover all food categories used with a school catering department including Grocery & Provisions, Frozen, Chilled, Fresh Meat, Fruit & Vegetables, Bread, Milk & Catering Disposables.
